APAC | Giving back, growing forward: Our journey with Colliers' community initiatives
Giving back is more than a gesture for us at Colliers, it’s a core part of how we make our culture count and do what's right for our clients, people and communities.
Volunteering and community engagement are embedded in our values, empowering us to create real impact beyond the workplace. Whether through structured programs or grassroots efforts led by our people, we’re encouraged to contribute meaningfully to causes that matter. It’s this spirit of service and collaboration that helps us grow personally and professionally, while accelerating success for our communities and also our clients.
We’ve recently had the opportunity to engage in experiences that broadened our perspectives and deepened our sense of purpose. One of the most thought-provoking moments was visiting a centre dedicated to supporting individuals with autism. While we didn’t meet the workers themselves, the founders and staff guided us through the processes, such as noodle-making and packaging, and explained how each task is thoughtfully designed to suit the needs and strengths of participants. Seeing how these systems are built to empower neurodiverse communities gave us a deeper appreciation for inclusive design and the dignity it fosters.
Another memorable experience was our recent beach clean-up. With the sun on our backs and gloves on our hands, we worked together to remove litter from the shoreline. It was more than just picking up trash, it was a collective reminder of our responsibility to protect the environment. The experience echoed Colliers’ commitment to sustainability and inspired us to be more mindful in our own habits.
Volunteering with Food Angel was equally meaningful. Preparing meals for under-served communities reminded us of the power of compassion and the importance of giving back. It also gave us a chance to connect with colleagues in a different setting, strengthening our bonds and shared values.
These experiences have helped us grow – not just as professionals, but as people. They’ve taught us to listen more, care more deeply, and act with purpose.
