By Praveen Sharma
As a leader in the project management and corporate fitouts team, my journey so far at Colliers has been nothing short of exceptional. With continuous learning, avenues for growth, and effective collaboration, I have found myself growing both personally and professionally. I have had the privilege of working across diverse segments, on projects that were varied in scale and complexity.
Representing clients and collaborating with contractors, vendors and PMCs has given me unique insights into the business. I have come to deeply understand the expectations, challenges, and working styles of different stakeholders. This experience has helped me craft strategic, solution-focused, and customized solutions that drive project success and client satisfaction.
On a personal level, this journey has been transformative. The opportunities and challenges that have come my way have helped me develop critical proficiencies including navigating project complexities and strengthening my communication and interpersonal skills. I have grown more self-aware, learning to embrace change and bounce back from setbacks, all while making crucial decisions and preserving stakeholder relationships. These lessons have molded me into a more resourceful, adaptable and dependable professional.
The support and trust I have received from the organization have been instrumental in my growth. Under the guidance of my mentors, our team has quadrupled in size over the last three years. I am particularly grateful for the exposure to multiple regions, the opportunity to directly impact P&L, and the freedom to devise and implement growth strategies. This level of autonomy is both motivating and empowering.
I am truly proud of what we have built so far and excited about what lies ahead. I look forward to continuing this journey and learning and growing with the team.
