In today’s commercial landscape, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it’s a business imperative. Colliers is proud to be leading the charge across Asia Pacific in proving that sustainable transformation is not only possible, but powerful.
In an industry connected to more than 40% of global carbon emissions, we recognise our responsibility to act and we know that our people feel the same way.
With the release of our 2024 Global Sustainability Report, we’ve launched an exciting new strategy called Built to Last. It’s more than a sustainability plan – it’s a blueprint for how we operate, how we lead and how we empower our people and our clients.
Here in Asia Pacific, we’re proud to be at the forefront of that journey.
Our people across Asia Pacific are passionate about creating positive change. From reducing emissions to designing inclusive workplaces, we’re embedding sustainability into everything we do.”
Emma Flowers, Regional Director, Marketing & Communications, Asia Pacific, Colliers
Where strategy meets action
We are proud of the progress we’ve made in embedding sustainability into our operations and culture in recent years. Our teams are not only meeting expectations, they are setting new standards for what sustainable real estate can look like in this region.
For example, in Australia we have benchmarked energy use and emissions across six major offices and implemented tenancy improvement plans to drive down consumption. In Tokyo and Osaka, we have used our Green Lease Checklist to secure two sustainable new offices that align with both our environmental goals and employee needs. In South Korea, our team has rolled out mental health and wellness programs as part of a broader workplace strategy.
The bigger picture
The actions being taken in our local offices across the Asia Pacific region are contributing to some impressive results region-wide:
- 39.6% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions per square foot from a 2021 baseline.
- WELL Health-Safety Ratings in all Colliers offices in Asia Pacific.
- 108% of our Colliers Gives volunteering goal achieved.
- 90% employee engagement, with APAC offices leading in satisfaction globally.
Why it matters
Sustainability is a reflection of our values in action, and a pathway to long-term resilience.”
Tonya Lagrasta, Colliers’ new Global Head of Sustainability.
Asia Pacific is home to some of the world’s fastest-growing cities. That’s why we believe our impact is so critical. By prioritising sustainability into every aspect of real estate, from leasing and design to culture and governance, Colliers is helping future-proof buildings, empower people and create long-term value.
We are proud of the progress we’ve made in embedding sustainability into our operations and culture. Our teams are not only meeting expectations—they’re setting new standards for what sustainable real estate can look like in this region.”
Sam Harvey-Jones, Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific, Colliers.
