Sustainability: Doing what’s right for our clients, people and communities
Sustainability isn’t just a catchphrase at Colliers — it’s a commitment woven into the fabric of our operations and reiterated by decisions that minimise environmental footprint, foster inclusive, equitable and safe workplaces, and uphold the highest standards of corporate governance.
Elevate the environment
As a global leader in commercial real estate – an industry connected to nearly 40% of all carbon emissions – we are committed to creating a more sustainable future. We fully support the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change, as evidenced by our Science-Based Targets initiative commitment and our goal to achieve net zero for our own operations by 2030. According to our latest annual Global Sustainability report, we have reduced carbon emissions per square foot by almost 25% in just two years.
Inspire inclusiveness
We believe creating an inclusive environment is vital for unleashing the full potential of our people. To carve the path to this, we have set a goal of hiring more women across teams and in management roles to 40%. We also provide tailored training, support groups, mentorship, and feedback channels to ensure everyone feels valued, empowering our teams to better serve clients.
Prioritise health and wellbeing
We strive to create safe and healthy spaces that promote wellbeing, productivity and sustainability. We’re on track to achieving WELL Health-Safety Ratings in 100% of our offices larger than 2,500 square feet by 2025.
Colliers Gives back
Colliers Gives, our global volunteering program, is designed to make a difference in our communities. Our people have committed almost 6000 days in volunteering efforts in 2023 – showcasing our shared commitment to give back to communities and create a better world for everyone.
Supporting clients at every step of their sustainability journey
Along with supercharging our own sustainability goals, we’re equally passionate about helping our clients on their sustainability journey. Apart from the direct and obvious impact on carbon emissions and energy consumption, sustainable buildings fare better in terms of mitigating risk as well as attract market appeal. Which is why companies across industry sectors are increasingly recognising the need to integrate sustainable practices into their operations to create a positive impact and ensure long-term success.
From establishing measurable goals and integrating sustainable practices into operations to tracking progress, we partner with our clients at every step to ensure success with their sustainability goals. We have also developed innovative market-leading technologies to help clients track and control their carbon footprint.
By embedding sustainability principles into the core of how we operate and helping our clients accelerate success with their sustainability ambitions, we remain committed to creating long-term value for our stakeholders while positively impacting the communities we serve.
