We are seeking to recruit an experienced, client focused, professional, and entrepreneurial Senior Project Manager to join our proactive Canberra team on a 10–12-month contract. Working across current greenfield and brownfield development projects in infrastructure development including education and childcare, you will join the Colliers team to benefit from exposure to all manner of clients and sectors. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for: 

  • The operational delivery of projects in line with client and contractual requirements;  
  • Leadership, management and mentoring of project personnel to ensure superior team performance in all aspects of project delivery including development approvals, scope management, time management, cost management and profitability, procurement human resources, communications and project governance, risk management, contract administration, health, safety, quality assurance and environment. 
  • Chairing and leading all aspects of projects. 
  • Ensuring project outcomes and objectives set by the National Director are met. 
  • Manage and promote the business development and marketing of potential projects including proposal preparation, contract negotiation with prospective clients and award of new projects. 
  • Proven ability in managing the delivery of projects that satisfy the clients expectations, financial results, program and procedures. 
  • Ensuring Developed systems and procedures are fully implemented to ensure that the business is not at risk of non-compliance with third party accreditations 
  • Risk and Opportunities are tracked on the project to ensure the Client is aware of the key issues on the project regularly. 
  • Ensure all internal and external reporting is maintained. 
  • Assisting the Associate Director/ Directors / National Directors in the development and maintenance of superior client and key stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 - 8 years' experience 
  • Ideally University degree qualified, in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Design or Construction. Qualifications in formal project methodologies is desirable. 
  • End to end project oversight and delivery - including project planning, budget management, risk management, issue management, personnel management, client management, commercial issue management, testing management. An understanding of the real estate / property industry is desirable. 
  • Large scale contract administration experience and skills required. 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral, ability to converse with all levels of staff from senior level management to technical staff. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of procurement and rules and experience in delivery of Government (Federal or State) Projects. 
  • The capability to lead, inspire and motivate others to action, through setting a clear direction and harnessing the full capability of the team to deliver. 
  • It is essential to be highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Microsoft Project. 
  • Development Management, Business Case and Development Approvals experience also desirable.
