Job Description

Key Purpose of Role:

Colliers, a leading commercial real estate global company, is embarking on an exciting journey to build its data ecosystem in Google Cloud Platforms (GCP) following its strategic partnership with Google. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our EMEA data Operation and Strategy team in Poland. The successful candidate will focus on leading data projects and engaging with stakeholder across EMEA and building robust data pipelines and migrating databases and data across several European countries.

The ideal candidate should have expertise in on-prem and Cloud technologies such as Azure, with a particular focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for various data integration and migration projects.
  • Migrate existing on-prem databases and datasets to Google Cloud Platform, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure smooth operation and timely resolution of issues.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in data engineering and cloud technologies and apply them to improve existing systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other data engineers and team members.
  • Report to EMEA Head of Data Operation & Strategy.
     

Key Competencies:

  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python.
  • Strong experience with data pipeline tools such as Google Dataflow.
  • Expertise in database technologies including SQL, NoSQL, and data warehousing solutions like BigQuery.
  • Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and data lakes.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skillset in English.
     

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field or 10 years of experience in data engineering related fields.
  • Certification in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data engineering or architecture is a bonus.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience in the GIS data and Commercial real estate is a bonus.

  • Please note: Polish tax residency is a mandatory requirement for this position.
