To hold the overall responsibility in the finance and accounting functions of Colliers Philippines which include controlling, budgeting, reporting, financial planning and analysis, management information systems, and tax.

Core Responsibilities:

• Upgrade and implement an appropriate finance system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly closing.
• Prepares and presents monthly management reports and financials. (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows, Sales and Operating Expenses (analysis of factors that are impacting the business) Reports, monitors and analyzes variances between actual vs. budget.
• Prepares strategic forecasts and financial plan and budget.
• Implements finance and accounting policies and procedures.
• Oversees accounting operations such as, but not limited to, processing of payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, related party recon and general ledger entries.
• Update and reconcile inter-company accounts.
• Ensures complete and accurate books of accounts.
• Leads completion of audit process.
• Documents and continuously improves existing policies and procedures to support the current business and future business growth (i.e. set up the Chart of Accounts, Accounting Processes and Policies: Cash, Petty Cash Fund, Advances, Operation Costs, Bad Debt, CapEx and Depreciation and Amortization
• Cooperates with business units and support functions across company.
• Works cross-functionally with revenue generating operations to ensure IT systems are client- and operations-friendly and capture all necessary accounting data.
• Ensures compliance with regular reportorial requirements for a multinational company.
• Ensures compliance with govt regulations and remittances.
• Minimizes tax exposure by keeping abreast of new tax rules and managing all tax planning and compliance with all required local, national and other applicable taxes.
• Streamlines accounting functions and operations.
• Maximize utilization of SunSystem and in-house Deal Tracking System (DTS)
• Leads and mentors a team of accounting staff to ensure that deliverables of the department are timely and efficiently met
• Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time

Team Development/Leadership

• Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance and operations teams.
• Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
• Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
• Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments.
• Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.
• Enforce the Company and Employee Code of Conduct.

• At least 12-15 years of relevant experience in a commercial environment
• Holds a professional accounting qualification (Chartered Accountant, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or similar) Strong knowledge of the Philippines tax law, US GAAP, and Sarbanes -Oxley
• Ability to build relationships at all levels of business, both internally and externally
• Proven track record in investment property management, in particular working on behalf of institutional investors, including a thorough understanding of common commercial & industrial leasing practices, legislation, procedures, and terminology.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills to generate information that provides sound business decisions.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills – ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
• Excellent presentation skills, high attention to detail, ensuring production of consistent, quality internal and external reporting and client submissions.
