About the role
As a Senior Urbanist, you’ll be involved in a range of high-profile urban development projects, working alongside some of the brightest minds in planning, design, economics, and engagement. You’ll working as part of a team on large scale complex projects, whilst also managing other social strategy and engagement projects under the guidance of the Project Director. You will be given excellent opportunities to develop your technical expertise, build on your existing project management skills, and cultivate strong client relationships, all while helping shape the future of our cities.
The ideal candidate will
- Be able to work collaboratively across a range of projects, including being part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Have well developed project management skills and the ability to take a key role in preparing planning deliverables including social impact assessment, social infrastructure studies, social research and measurement, community and stakeholder engagement strategies as well as local and state government strategies
- Be able to liaise well with a range of clients with and provide advice across both private and government authorities.
- Be a team player with the passion and drive necessary to
- work in a high performing environment.
- Have an interest in developing others within the team by sharing your knowledge and collaborative work experiences.
- A Tertiary qualification in Planning/Urbanism/Human Geography/Sustainability/Communications or related degree/discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in an urban planning environment
- Knowledge of the NSW planning framework and/or social policy environment
- Well-versed communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with clients and other project team members.
- Excellent writing skills, who can draft efficiently, write accurate and comprehensive reports and prepare external correspondence.
- An understanding of good engagement practices
