We are seeking a highly experienced Facilities Management Director to lead and oversee the full spectrum of FM services across a national portfolio for our strategic client. This role is pivotal to the successful delivery of FM operations and plays a critical part in managing risk, ensuring performance, maintaining business continuity, and driving service excellence.
While this is a national role with flexibility in location. Both the client and Colliers team are based. The successful candidate must be willing to travel across the UK to maintain service standards and manage escalations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the FM strategy and target operating model
- Ensure consistent FM service delivery aligned to defined performance metrics and service levels
- Oversee site inspections, audits, and performance reviews to validate service compliance
- Manage all outsourced service contracts, ensuring adherence to contractual frameworks
- Lead supplier performance and relationship management
- Review, improve, and approve operational processes to drive service quality
- Manage all service quality and escalation issues across the estate
- Provide governance and oversight of commercial claims, variations, and adjustments
- Drive cost and commercial management, ensuring alignment with fixed-price and semi-comprehensive models
- Maintain strong contract management practices in accordance with Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
- Deliver comprehensive management reporting and data insight across all aspects of FM
- Lead glide path savings initiatives, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiencies
- Ensure supply chain continuity and resilience strategies are embedded
- Champion business continuity and resilience planning across the FM portfolio
- Integrate FM delivery with wider CRE strategic objectives to ensure cohesive execution
- Proven track record managing national FM portfolios with contract values in the region of £30 million
- Exceptional commercial acumen with deep experience in contract management, cost control, and commercial governance
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience managing all core FM services, ideally in complex and high-risk environments
- Sector experience within banking or financial services is highly desirable, though not essential
- Strong operational FM background, with a clear understanding of gearing ratios, benchmarking, and key metrics that inform organisational design and service strategy
- Able to influence at a senior level and lead cross-functional teams toward strategic outcomes
