This growth and our commitment to investing in our people and platform has created the need for an enterprising finance professional to join our team as the Chief Financial Officer | Greater China. This newly created position’s key objective is to work with the Managing Director | China, Managing Director | Hong Kong, the Greater China Leadership Team and the Chief Financial Officer | Asia Pacific to deliver year-on-year EBITDA growth.

This person will actively influence the continued growth & success of Colliers in Greater China by partnering with the Greater China Leadership team and the Chief Operating Officer | APAC to ensure the appropriate support systems, processes and infrastructures are in place to optimise EBITDA in all market conditions and enable the Managing Director | China and Managing Director | Hong Kong to concentrate on strategic growth.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the company’s Greater China financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and auditing
  • Lead the Finance and accounting team and ensure their ongoing professional development and training
  • Actively influence the execution of the business plan to deliver the budgeted profit
  • Lead the budget process and day to day financial operations by managing the local finance teams across Greater China
  • Ensure risks are actively managed through compliance with all relevant legal and internal company guidelines
  • Optimize the company’s operating cash flow
  • Partner with internal audit to manage company’s risk across all level and all businesses
  • Ensure data integrity of the systems across the region and that appropriate process and system controls are in place
  • Setting best practice standards with regards to controlling and mitigate operational tax risk as well as develop and maintain relationships with relevant tax officials and regulatory authorities
  • Partner with business leaders to understand service line and geographic business requirements and optimise the Finance resources to deliver service excellence
  • Oversee the Information Technology platform for the Greater China region, in partnership with the regional IT leaders
  • Lead and/or support strategic projects and initiatives
  • Optimise structures and processes to keep pace with the internal growth and industry changes that Colliers experience across Greater China.
  • Be aware of what our competition is doing to identify threats and opportunities for our business
  • Participate in and on occasion lead China/ Hong Kong Leadership meetings, providing impactful contributions to discussion and solutions.
  • Deliver commercial decisions on investments in platform & significant costs across the business
  • Project manage modelling, due diligence and integration of acquisitions, including integrating finance post-acquisition – e.g. monitoring the performance of the purchase and tying in with final payments
  • Partner with local Finance leaders and HOD’s for financial modelling for market leading hires and team lifts

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be possessing the following skills and qualifications:

  • An Executive Leader of the highest quality
  • Holds an professional accounting qualification (Chartered Accountant, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of Chinese/ Hong Kong taxation law, US GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Proactive and self-motivated, demonstrating initiative, creativity and willingness to implement improvements and ability to add value to the team
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of business, both internally and externally
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills to generate information that provides sound business decisions
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills – ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise
  • Prior professional experience in both China and Hong Kong
  • Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
